My daughter started with a scratchy throat late one Wednesday evening. By Monday morning at 7 AM, she was in an ambulance headed to an ER. She was diagnosed with the flu, streptococcus, pneumonia, and streptococcus infection in her bloodstream. In the early morning hours of Tuesday, she was intubated. Additional test by Wednesday evening revealed a fungal infection in her bloodstream due to the central system put in her for blood draws, etc. 

We heard reports in those next hours like.”this could go either way and we’re not sure she will pull through”, and “this fungal infection has a 45% mortality rate”.  I have to admit that my faith had never been tested to this degree. This is my youngest child… My baby girl. During these hours we called on every prayer warrior we knew to join us in praying and petitioning for complete healing. A small voice in my deepest soul kept saying.”do you trust me?”  In the quiet dark as I prayed over her late one night,I heard His Spirit ask me “when is her birthday?”  I answered out loud, “March 11, Lord”. He said, “How old will she be.”  I said, “You know she’ll be 43, Lord”. He asked “What room is she in?”  I answered(a bit frustrated)”Papa, you know she’s in room 243. He got quiet and a warm peace came over me as I understood His Spirit was assuring me she would see her 43rd birthday that was still 2 weeks away.

I began testifying to doctors, nurses, respiratory folks..anyone who would listen of His assurance she would not only come through, but that she would celebrate on her birthday. There were still more scary times..chest tubes inserted in both her lungs to drain infections, rising and falling of certain functions and numbers that needed to stabilize; however, OUR GOD IS FAITHFUL TO HIS PROMISES! 

The tracheal tube was removed after 11 days and she was released after 24 very long days to our care. She was home to celebrate her 43rd birthday!

She is not fully recovered, but she is on her way to enjoying her to new life, because our God is “able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all we dream or ask”(Ephesians 3:20)!
